Where would you like to go?
Love the idea of my workshops, but can’t make the dates? Maybe you want to go somewhere else? Maybe you and some friends want to organise one together? Want to spend some time simply working on your Lightroom skills? Want to work with me one-to-one? Want to go on a photography trip somewhere special but not sure where to start?
Well, I have a couple of ideas for you... First, why not benefit from my fluent Spanish and my intimate knowledge of the area and come with me to the Province of Cadiz in Southern Spain. I lived there for five years in the 90’s and know it well. It is an amazing place for photography, combining Europe’s best seafood, delicious sherry, amazing beaches, the fascinating and historic cities of Cadiz & Jerez and, running through everything, the incredible culture of Flamenco. Maybe taking the ferry from Tarifa and heading south to explore Morocco?
Or, why not try something new and join me on a trip discovering a part of the world I am really excited about. Southeastern Europe. From my home in Bulgaria (which has borders with Greece, Turkey, Romania, Serbia and Macedonia) embark on a trip which, although still relatively close, will open your eyes to the REAL ‘hidden Europe’. Transylvania, The Carpathians, the Black sea…
This year...I have arranged an amazing trip for a client who wanted to shoot at the incredible holy week ceremonies deep in Southern Spain, I will be taking a client to explore the backstreets and markets of Athens for a week, and I am taking a couple from New York on a fascinating photographic tour of the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.
Read what Ron Cooper from Denver, Colorado had to say about the trip I recently organised for him and his wife to the 'Semana Santa' celebrations in Andalucia, Southern Spain...
'I’ve known Tim Clinch for several years, initially meeting him when I attended a photography workshop he runs in Bulgaria. That was a fun and productive experience, not to mention an excellent opportunity to see Bulgaria in a way that would have been difficult or impossible on my own.
On the Bulgaria trip, I learned that Tim had lived for many years in Spain and we began discussing the possibility of a trip to Andalucia during “Semana Santa” to photograph the many Holy Week processions and activities that are so much a part of Spanish culture and history. We recently did that trip, and it was superb both for the excellent photography opportunities and as a wonderful way to spend the Easter week in my favorite part of Spain.
Tim’s familiarity with the region and, in particular, his local contacts, got me access to many unique photography opportunities including behind-the-scenes preparations by the various “hermandades” (brotherhoods), and balconies overlooking the processions. He introduced us to Finca Buenvino, a very lovely inn run by his friends Sam and Jeannie Chesterton, and we spent the week there taking full advantage of their beautiful “finca” (estate), superb cooking and warm hospitality. We had many discussions, both practical and philosophical, about photography.
If you’re thinking about a private or bespoke photography trip in Spain, Bulgaria or elsewhere, I’d encourage you to consider arranging it with Tim. He’s a superb travel companion, an excellent photographer and tutor, collaborative, well organized and professional. The time I’ve spent with him has been productive, fun and a great investment in my development as a photographer.'
